A touring kayak is sometimes referred to as a sea kayak, because to fall under this category, it must be considered “seaworthy,” meaning it can operate even in high sea states. Other differences between the touring variety and recreational or fishing kayaks include greater space for cargo, and greater comfort, making them ideal for lengthy journeys.
A solo sea kayak is generally 10-18 feet long, and a tandem craft can be up to 26 feet long.
